Wolves defeat Warriors in overtime
It’s not four in a row for the Warriors, who confirmed their struggles on the sidelines with a 119-114 overtime loss on the Wolves floor. However, Stephen Curry’s teammates managed the game well as they led by 14 points early in the 4th quarter (96-82). They had only lost eight possessions up to that point, and then they would get back on track, and D’Angelo Russell in particular would carry the game all by himself.
The former All-Star guard scored 14 points in 3 minutes and the “Wolves” came back to a small score (102-101). Carried by the crowd, Russell’s teammates went wild and Naz Reid gave his team a 3-point lead (110-108) with less than two minutes left. Stephen Curry answers it with a step and then nothing will be recorded! Match points follow back-to-back, and Curry misses the halfway mark all by himself. Returning to the game, Russell also runs 9 meters in the last second. Do not extend!
It was Andrew Wiggins who opened the scoring with a dunk, but it was Anthony Edwards who flew in the extra five minutes, while Russell joined the bench with six fouls. Aggressive, he hits a 7-0 mark and it’s hero Reid, who pulls in an offensive rebound after his own missed shot for a layup dunk. Wolves win 119-114 in crazy atmosphere!
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Lack of mastery. The Warriors controlled the pace and the ball through three quarters, turning over just eight possessions through three quarters. They would then lose by 9 in the fourth quarter and overtime! We will remember these two balls that Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney lost with a minute left.
Free throws. Had the Wolves lost, they could have blamed themselves for missing 11 free throws at 54%. The craziest part is that Minnesota wouldn’t tie the game in the 4th quarter and overtime! In the end, evil for good…
Back. The Warriors play in Denver tonight and we wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Kerr rests a few managers again. This is to say that this failure will hit the heads hard.
TOPS/FLOPS
✅Naz Reid. Rudy Gobert embarrassed by his groin, Reid proves that he is a double once again! He finished the competition with 24 points and 13 rebounds. He’s a threat from distance, and his 3-pointer from the corner in the 4th quarter, followed by a furious dunk in overtime, proved decisive.
✅D’Angelo Russell. He replaced Curry midway through the 3rd quarter, 7 of 17, in what was a promising and, above all, game-ending game. Released for six fouls early in overtime, he battled until the end.
✅Anthony Edwards. Subbed in the 4th quarter, he wakes up in overtime with fair picks and aggressiveness. His drums are impressive.
✅ ⛔Stephen Curry. His first half was marked by 21 points on 5-of-7 3-point shooting. The end of the match is not in doubt with his basket and even the winning shot he missed when he opened his racket.
⛔ Clay Thompson. There’s always a lot of offense at Splash Brother. 3 out of 13 shots in 40 minutes is clearly insufficient.
