The last few days have been tough times for the Thunder. With this loss against the Rockets, third in four games, January’s surge is a long way off. For Houston, this is the third time this season that the franchise has won two in a row.
The Kings also won two games after eliminating the Spurs. Gregg Popovich’s troops continue to accumulate setbacks: now seven in a row. In the end, the Suns were swept by the Falcons, despite two wins.
Detroit-Washington (Postponed) Memphis – Portland Philadelphia-Orlando Boston-Brooklyn Minnesota-Golden State Utah – Toronto
Houston-Oklahoma City: 112-106
Trailing 9-0, then 7-0, and finally 7-1, still in the third quarter, the Thunder probably thought they had done the hardest part. Especially when Tre Mann opened the game with a game-winning basket. But the Rockets were persistent.
Garrison Mathews and Tari Eason (20 points, career high) respond with 3-pointers before the latter misses four consecutive shots in the same stretch, but gets four rebounds to finally score! The Texans are ahead and lead 5-0. Kenyon Martin Jr. seals the victory with a dunk. Second straight win for the Rockets, second straight loss for Oklahoma City.

San Antonio-Sacramento: 109-119
The Kings didn’t have a 3-point skill night. That’s why they stuck inside with Domantas Sabonis, who scored a season-high 34 points. The Lithuanian scored 17 points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, still on the inside, the Californians went on a 14-2 run.
Although clumsy and uncertain behind the arc (18 turnovers), the Spurs hung on. They’re only three points away in the third quarter, but Sacramento still has an answer. Still, in the final half, after two minutes of play, there is still a small difference in points. De’Aaron Fox is responsible for chasing Gregg Popovich’s troops, who bowed out for the seventh consecutive time.

Phoenix-Atlanta: 100-132
There is no passage in an evening to forget three and especially the Sun. Monty Williams’ players were on the hook from the opening minutes and quickly fell behind 11-4. The Falcons were capable of 3-pointers, not the Suns, who also lost 16 possessions that were turned into 31 points by Dejounte Murray and his crew.
Atlanta went on a 13-0 run early in the second quarter. A void has been created and the Phoenix will not return.
They scored 40 and then 36 points in the second quarter: the Falcons are approaching the final stage with a difference of 35 points! An easy win and a great way to bounce back from two losses.
