The Pixel 7 Pro confirms the good copy made by last year’s Pixel 6 Pro. The smartphone refines a remarkable formula: Google places a very bright Oled screen, a powerful Tensor G2 chip and photo equipment that makes it one of the most versatile terminals. Android 13 is entitled to special improvements (voicemail transcription, future free VPN) that serve this successful hardware. Of course, we regret that the smartphone does not do better in terms of autonomy and fast charging, in this area Google does not perform miracles, and this year we can also blame the terminal for its rather massive design. But in our opinion, these elements are not enough to darken this very convincing picture.
Strong points
- Very bright OLED screen.
- Tensor G2 performance.
- Versatility and photo quality.
Weak points
- Autonomy is not really up.
- Heat trend.

Like its predecessor, the Google Pixel 7 is a great smartphone. It benefits from a beautiful display, a powerful SoC and a very good photo sensor duo. Additionally, its pricing position makes it more affordable than the vast majority of its high-end competitors without any real compromises. We can certainly blame it for gaming fever, always-slow charging, or too much resemblance to the Pixel 6, but these flaws are minimal in terms of the overall experience, which is more intuitive on Android 13.
