2 USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (Newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac) and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless remote access and communication, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect this computer to a TV, such as an audio port, but also 3 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) USB 3.0, which guarantees transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if peripherals are connected to it.
The webcam is adorned with infrared technology compatible with facial recognition to biometrically authenticate via Windows Hello.
We appreciate more that the shutter is available to protect privacy.
The keys of the chiclet keyboard can of course be backlit, which is practical to make them stand out better during limited ambient light.

Thanks to IPS and sRGB specifications, the screen has wide vertical and horizontal viewing angles and reproduces colors more faithfully than average. It also lends itself very well to displaying videos and more broadly High Definition content thanks to its 16:9 format and Full HD resolution. The screen is also anti-reflective, making it more readable than a glossy panel in bright environments (such as outdoors) and less eye-straining during prolonged use.
Performance, the autonomy of the HP Envy 17-cr0028nf
The HP Envy 17-cr0028nf is a slim wide-format notebook designed for everyday general-purpose mobile use.
It provides good overall performance as it is powered by a low-power Intel Alder Lake-P hybrid processor with around 16GB of RAM and a 28W TDP that allows for higher performance than the 15W editions.
This core is particularly suitable for multimedia work, which benefits from RAM and multiple cores (and therefore Alder Lake-P’s 12 cores). This is, for example, during video encoding or photo editing or video conversion.
If the goal is to frequently perform processing that requires processor and/or graphics resources, it is still better to go for a computer based on a non-low-power processor and/or an appropriate dedicated graphics card.
Because there is no dedicated GPU here. Therefore, all graphics are controlled by the Iris Xe module located on the Alder Lake-P Core i7, which is enough for viewing photos and videos, as well as having fun in modest games.

On the storage side, there’s an SSD that’s quieter, but also more robust and faster than a hard drive, consuming less power.
In practice, SSD provides better responsiveness and fluidity on a day-to-day basis, which means especially faster start/stop, as well as the processing and launch of programs or even faster access to cards of online games.
And on the capacity side? Here, the SSD offers 512GB, which is in line with what hard drives offer as standard. However, if you need more space, you can obviously use an external storage device. Opting for a USB-C / USB 3.0 / Thunderbolt device is an interesting option for getting fast transfers.
As for autonomy, bet on about 7 hours of battery life in light use for this computer, which is not easily portable due to its weight and large format. Its thinness remains noticeable, and 17 inches is comfortable anyway for mostly sedentary use (e.g. at home).
