Do you want your mobile phone to always be ringing? It’s easy with a GSM booster

Not everyone can fully use their smartphone due to lack of or insufficient network. The solution is a mobile signal repeater

The market for mobile signal boosters has been growing in recent years. These technological devices are in demand not only in rural areas but also in big cities. This is due to the following reasons. On the one hand, there are places where mobile signal reception is weak, both in the city and in rural areas. On the other hand, we cannot live a day without a laptop. We communicate, work, read, have fun and do many daily transactions on our smartphones.

In our time, lack of mobile communication is equivalent to lack of water, electricity or heat. So, when we have a network problem, we solve it in different ways, one of the most reliable is using mobile signal booster.

Signal booster: what is it

one GSM booster (also called a repeater or booster) is an electronic device designed to improve existing cellular networks.

If you have a usable signal outside your home, office or car, but a weak or non-existent network inside, a GSM booster can help. Also suitable for those with very poor reception on both sides of the door. However, the repeater will be useless if there is no mobile signal near your premises. While it’s an undeniably cool device that amplifies even a weak signal from a cellular carrier, a repeater can’t generate that signal over the air.

How network amplifiers work

Mobile phone amplifier holds signal from the base station strengthens and rebroadcast in the desired area. Mobile devices in this area automatically receive the amplified signal. Undelivered text messages, missed calls and invalid data will be reduced or deleted.

Amplifiers also work reverse. The system receives signals from mobile devices and sends them to the nearest cell tower.

There are different types of repeaters that target different needs. These are intended amplifiers for buildings (homes, offices, shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, etc.) and for vehicles (cars, trucks, motorhomes, vans, boats, yachts, etc.).

Improved mobile coverage is achieved by using repeater components whom :

  • open antenna;
  • booster box;
  • indoor antenna;
  • coaxial cables.

An external antenna (also called a donor antenna) receives mobile frequencies. The captured signal is then sent to the amplifier box.

Available two types of outdoor antennas :

  1. Omnidirectional Antenna: Picks up signals from all directions with a 360-degree beam. Omni antennas are best for buildings with moderate to strong outdoor signal; homes and offices with multiple cell phone towers nearby; moving vehicles.
  2. Unidirectional antenna (the most common is the Yagi antenna): this antenna receives the signal from one direction. It is designed to show the nearest tower with a beam of 45 degrees. A focused signal allows a directional antenna to reach a greater distance than an omni antenna. Therefore, the directional antenna is used for homes and offices with a weak signal outside; as well as for homes and businesses looking to upgrade to just one carrier.

Location of donor antennae is decisive. This can affect the strength of the signal received by the amplifier. Ideally, the antenna should receive the strongest possible signal for best results. Therefore, we recommend installing it on the roof of a building or car, where the strongest signal is available.

the booster box it receives the signal from an external antenna and amplifies it, as the name suggests.

Mobile signal can only be increased up to its value amplifier gain, measured in dB (decibels). Basically, gain is applied to the received signal, improving the signal strength, measured in dBm (decibel-milliwatts). The closer you get to -50dBm, the more reliable your signal is.

The actual amplification power you receive will depend on your available signal strength. If you have a weak external signal, the repeater will apply more gain. On the other hand, if you have a strong external signal, the amplifier will apply less gain. This prevents the device from overloading and interfering with nearby cell towers.

An amplified signal is sent indoor antenna to spread more where you want.

There are different ones types of indoor antennas :

  1. Panel Antenna: This antenna is directional and usually mounted on a wall. Its beam varies between 45 and 70 degrees. The strongest signal will be available in the closest areas before reaching lower priority areas.
  2. Dome antenna: This antenna is versatile and usually mounted on the ceiling. Distributes signals in all directions. This type of antenna works best in large open areas.

The blanket Your benefit depends largely on a variety of factors, such as:

  • type of signal amplifier;
  • type and quantity of internal antennas;
  • available signal strength;
  • plan of the building.

The signal booster kits varies depending on how many square meters it can cover. Designed for homes and small offices, the kits can work in areas up to 300 m2. Sets for medium and large buildings range from 300 to 1000 m2. Commercial amplifiers can cover areas up to 3000 m2. The above figures are based on optimal conditions.

If your signal is at its weakest, coverage will be significantly reduced. Walls and furniture can prevent the broadcast signal from reaching all the necessary corners. Multiple antennas may be required to really increase coverage.

the coaxial cable connects all elements of the amplifier. This is what carries the signal between the mobile antennas and the amplifier box. The cable is designed to deliver high frequency electrical signals with low signal loss.
