The play. A girl and three boys participate in this play, which is the result of thinking about music and improvisation. One plays the trombone, another the violin, and the last the bassoon. The girl sings and plays the piano. Director Séverine Chavrier observes these young adult student musicians for 1 hour and 45 minutes. They smoke joints, play their parents, or recount their first experiences that fueled their passion. “I’m at the age when we’re looking for ourselves”: teenagers who play the role of decoration in their rooms are fascinated by this age when everything is mixed together. A piece as melancholic as it is joyful to discover after meeting the artistic team at the Théâtre des 13 Vents this Friday, January 6.

> Aria da Capo, Friday 6 January at 20:00 at Théâtre des 13 Vents, Domaine de Grammont, Montpellier. Reservations are required at 04 67 99 25 00. Price: between €16 and €22.

Comedy. “The name can never be revealed to relatives until the child is there.” Vincent will be a father for the first time. Invited to dinner with Elizabeth and Pierre, his sister and brother-in-law, he meets his childhood friend Claude. As he awaits the arrival of his eternally late young wife Anna, we pester him with questions about his future paternity in general good humor… But when Vincent is asked if he has already chosen a name for the child. when he is born, his response throws the family into chaos.

Conceived in 2010 by Matthieu Téléporte and Alexandre de la Patellière and starring Patrick Bruel or Valerie Benguigui, this play returns to the stage of the Kawa Theater in Montpellier. More than four hundred performances, one film and multiple awards, this time directed by Didier Chaix and performed by Jean-Michel Bosch and Nathalie Robert. The play takes you back to the living room of the Larchet family, whose characters are as funny as they are disgusting.

Whether you’re watching the play or the movie, this comic intrigue is nothing short of enjoyable. Vincent’s joking tone, Claude’s indifference or Babu’s sense of invisibility provide an unexpected moment of spectacle.

> “Le Prénom”, at the Kawa Theater 18, Rue Fouques, Montpellier. January 6 and 7, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Booking required, from a reduced rate of €16.
