10 electric cars that really go the farthest
If the criteria for buying an electric car is at least as much as a thermal car, the autonomy offered remains important. That’s what motivates us to bring you this list of the 10 best green cars measured, which we’ll try to update as often as possible.
Within two years, The development of the electric car has accelerated considerably. From a handful of models that could be identified on the fingers of two hands by 2020, today we are faced with a market that combines more than 70 models, all sizes and all prices. And it will cross the 100 mark very soon. Since autonomy remains a very logical purchase criterion, we decided to put together the 10 models that go the farthest. It is clear that we are not talking about the manufacturer’s figures, but about the autonomy that we have confirmed at our test base in Montlhéry..

Same protocols for maximum objectivity
Our protocols are therefore reproduced identically for every vehicle that passes through the test center to simulate real-life routes as closely as possible and, above all, to keep all vehicles on an equal footing. In order not to distort the results, there is no outside traffic to disturb the measurements, no heating, no air conditioning and above all reasonable temperatures, i.e. above 15 degrees.. Of course, all these parameters do not fully reflect your road conditions, but they are already much more reliable than the manufacturers’ indicators and more reliable than other protocols implemented on the open road, where the dangers make an objective comparison impossible.
Also note that the average consumption shown for each vehicle takes into account not only the energy absorbed while driving, but also the energy “consumed” by the vehicle’s on-board charger during charging. Because if it never goes into your battery, that energy is still billed to you at the end of the month… It also mentions only electric cars whose prices are not prohibitively high. Realize that with its massive 107 kWh battery, the Mercedes EQS goes further than the best electrics listed here. But at a price of more than €135,000 for the “base” variant, we can’t say that it belongs to many wallets… Finally, the classification of the table favors autonomy in the city, but it changes if we consider autonomy. on-road and highway, energy management and electric motor efficiency are unique to each model.
