This is an opportunity to unearth a small nugget Christmas gifts. From this Wednesday, December 7th Creators and Artisans Exhibition Moved to Toulouse exhibition center MEET. For its 41st edition, the show focuses on creativity and know-how. During five days, 130 artists will present the fruits of their labor.

Handmade, recycled… All made in France
Handmade gift ideas for an environmentally responsible Christmas are becoming more and more fashionable. This is the principle of this show presented in Toulouse. 130 craftsmen and creators come to present their products: clothes, furniture, handicrafts… Visitors can come and see or look at a unique ingot. Thus, for five days, French know-how will be discovered at MEETT.

Creativity of various professions
Many trades will be involved hand skill. As the organizers explain, “creativity is expressed in the ancestral knowledge of a binder and calligrapher of old books, a shoemaker, a perfumer or a luthier of unusual violins with amazing sounds.”
Visitors will then be able to discover crafts revolving around the tree. The Haute-Garonne association of cabinet makers and Revel creators will be present. They will show all that is possible with wood, but also collaborate with ceramicists, cutters, jewelers, hatters, sculptors, painters, photographers, illustrators.
Réanim’Art organization will participate in the clothing side. Its concept: transform and recycle materials into accessories, art objects or decoration. This then leads to interesting products: zero-waste fabrics, jewelry made from scrap leather or recycled plastic, knife boards and lamps made from scrap wood, recycled bronze sculptures, refurbished furniture.
MEETT becomes an art gallery
There will also be an art gallery in the living room. In the form of Pop-Up Art Gallery, Toulouse artist parrot they will present their work. His inspiration is based on his Catalan origins: he is a great admirer of Miro and Picasso. Visitors will be able to discover his works with unstructured human forms and figures.
This ephemeral gallery includes works by visual artist Laurence Litomi, sculptor Eva Czaplicki and visual artist Maribe. To note in the diary: the opening will be held on Friday, December 9, from 18:00 to 21:30 with the participation of the artists.
Young creators exhibited
The show is also an opportunity to highlight young designers. On this occasion, the “Young Creators” program offers an opportunity to highlight young arts and crafts companies. During five days, visitors will be able to choose their favorite artist. Last year’s public favorite was young glass spinner Gwenaëlle Le Polles. After this public recognition, she returns this year with Murano glass creations and jewelry.
A large participant fresco
One of the highlights of the show is the universe project. by visual sculptor Or Corbeta. The artist was inspired by the July 2022 James Webb Telescope photo. Thus, he invites visitors to participate in his work. Those who wish can make a mark on the canvas in the form of a giant ellipse. “Each point added will represent a star in the universe,” the organizers explain.
Workshops will also be offered to visitors to discover different skills throughout the Salon Créateurs & Artisans d’Art. The show is open from Wednesday 7 December to Sunday 11 December 2022 from 10am to 7pm. On Friday, December 9, until 10:00 p.m., a late-night musical performance is planned.
