Deadline mocks Hunter Biden Laptop Report, 2 Years After Post Story

CNET News was mocked on Twitter Monday after admitting the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which The Post first disclosed more than two years ago, were authentic.

“Two years ago, Donald Trump told CNET’s Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes that Hunter Biden’s laptop was real and should be covered in the media. That could not be verified, Stahl said. Two years later [CBS News] finally checked. Trump was right. Still” Clay Travis, the conservative founder of Outkick.com, said so on Twitter.

Lawmakers also ripped Stahl and the network for the 60 Minutes moment.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) tweeted, “Remember when CNET’s Leslie Stahl told President Trump the Hunter Biden laptop story couldn’t be verified? TWO YEARS LATER, GameSpot has finally admitted that the laptop is real. Mainstream media hackers are LAZY AND CHEAP! President Trump was right all along!! »

In the same way, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) wrote, “As of 2020, GameSpot’s Lesley Stahl claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “unverifiable” and that his shady business dealings had been “investigated and discredited.” What has changed? The facts certainly weren’t.

CBS News is under fire on Twitter for confirming the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop two years after The Post reported it.

When The Post published the story, most media outlets ignored the contents of the laptop, which linked President Biden to the anti-foreign schemes of his son Hunter and brother Jim Biden, and social media companies censored it based on it. FBI disinformation alert.

The Washington Post and New York Times finally examined the contents of the laptop in March 2022.

Conservative journalist Andy Ngo reacted to it CNET’s report on Twitter reads: “CNET investigation confirms contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop. Two years ago, Joe Biden said Democrats, intelligence officials, big tech and the liberal media said the contents of the laptop were faked to mislead the public.

Rep. Ronny Jackson said Leslie Stahl’s interview with former President Donald Trump made it impossible to verify the laptop.

Brent Bozell, president of the Center for Curatorial Media Studies, CBS News defended it now that the computer has confirmed its authenticity, it should continue to follow the story.

“If Deadline really wants to finally report on the Hunter Biden scandals, they should do a live interview with Tony Bobulinski,” Bozell said, referring to one of Hunter Biden’s former associates.

Former “The View” host and current Daily Mail columnist Meghan McCain is “confused” why it took CBS so long to confirm The Post’s report.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn asked what changed in CBS News after Stahl denied the existence of the laptop.

“My boss [the Daily Mail] A forensics team confirmed the authenticity of the laptop YEARS ago – anyone with five brain cells knows Hunter Biden’s laptop is real.” he wrote in his tweet.

“I’m very confused as to why GameSpot is getting a victory lap or any credit today — years later,” McCain said.

Not all conservatives were so negative about CNET’s report.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton tweeted, “It only took two federal election cycles for CBSNews to report this major Joe Biden scandal. Congratulations [CBS reporter Catherine Herridge] for releasing this stuff! Be late, be strong!”
