Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ALC7 (82RA0050FR) versus the competition

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ALC7 (82RA0050FR) is now available here Darty and Fnac. It offers an interesting configuration/price ratio for a category where the competition is very limited and is one of the only ones to offer such a powerful processor in such a convenient format.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ALC7 (82RA0050FR) chassis, connectors, screen

This 2-in-1 laptop, which can be flipped 360° to transform into a tablet, has a slim, relatively light dark Storm Gray aluminum design that looks original and at the same time sober.

The screen is adorned with multi-touch touch technology, thanks to which you can interact with the system and software by applying at least one finger on the screen, which is through gestures/pressure.
The touch screen has a glossy finish, which hits the colors, but is susceptible to reflections in bright environments (such as outdoors).

The screen also responds very well to the display of High Definition content thanks to the Full HD definition, where it is associated with the 16/10 format at a more comfortable height than the classic 16/9. In addition, thanks to IPS technology, the screen reproduces colors more faithfully than average, while providing significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles.

Since the fingerprint reader is integrated, you can authenticate yourself biometrically using Windows Hello technology.

The chiclet keyboard can of course be backlit, which is practical to better distinguish the keys when the ambient light is low.

Connectivity integrated into this versatile hybrid notebook PC is good, including 1 USB-C, HDMI video output useful for easily connecting this PC to a TV or monitor, such as Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (Newer and more efficient than Wi-Fi ac) and 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compliant) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when Bluetooth 5.1, audio port or USB 3.0 peripherals are connected above for remote connection and communication.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ALC7 (82RA0050FR) performance, autonomy

The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16ALC7 (82RA0050FR) is a slim, comfortable High Definition laptop that can be converted into a tablet for general-purpose mobile use.

Many users will be satisfied with the overall performance this versatile 2-in-1 laptop delivers. Because it is equipped with an AMD Octo Core APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) low power Ryzen 7 5700U Lucienne processor and a good amount of 16 GB RAM.

This core may be suitable for those doing modest multimedia work, such as photo editing or video conversion, using multiple cores and RAM.

On the other hand, for frequent CPU- and/or graphics-intensive graphics tasks, it’s better to choose a computer equipped with an underpowered processor and/or an appropriate dedicated graphics card instead.

Because there is no dedicated graphics card on board here. Therefore, all graphics are controlled directly by the Radeon Vega 8 solution integrated into the Octo Core Ryzen 7, which is enough for viewing photos and videos, as well as having fun in light games.

On the storage side, there’s an SSD that’s silent, while consuming less power, more robust, and faster than a hard drive.
In practice, an SSD provides better fluidity and responsiveness on a day-to-day basis.
Thanks to the SSD, we especially get faster start/stop, processing and launch of programs, and even faster access to cards of online games.

With a capacity of 512 GB, the SSD offers capacity in line with hard drive standards.
However, if you need more space, you can use an external storage device such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device to take advantage of fast transfers.

As for autonomy, expect around 8 hours of battery life in light use for this all-in-one hybrid mobile computer with a manageable weight for its Ultrabook-thin and large convenient 16-inch form factor.
